Brought to you by Professor Cristina Iannelli: Statistical literacy (being able to understand and use numbers) is key to the professional practice of educators. This session provides an introduction to using data to inform professional practice, using examples from Growing Up in Scotland, a survey which tracks the lives of thousands of children in Scotland. The hands-on computer-based session will allow you to explore data on issues of relevance to teachers, for example, children's experiences when starting school, and their parents' involvement in school activities.

The event will take place on Tuesday 17th February from 11am-1pm at Thomson's Land, Room G.06
